After graduation from Martin Luther College in 1972, I began my ministry teaching Kindergarten and first grade at East Fork Lutheran Mission in Whiteriver, Arizona. After two years I accepted the call to St. Lucas, Milwaukee to teach first grade. While here I met and married Russell Schmidt and we were blessed with three children. When I returned to teaching, I accepted the Call to teach eighth grade parttime at St. Paul's, Muskego, Wisconsin. In 1986 I again accepted the Call to teach first grade at Stl Lucas, Milwaukee. After several years I was asked and accepted the position of Kindergarten teacher.
