Classroom News

March 21: We are finishing third quarter this week, and it has certainly been a busy one - projects in Science and Social Studies along with all of our normal studies. It's hard to believe that Spring has just begun as we hit 80 on the thermometer. In Christlight, we are now studying the Kings of Israel. We are onto David, including one of the most famous Bible stories of all time - David and Goliath. Continue to ask your child to read the back of our Christlight worksheet to learn more about the Kings of Israel and how God continued to protect them.

In Literature, we are currently reading Bridge to Teribithia. Although there is plenty of make believe in the book, there are also some great larger themes to discuss. Ask your child what their role is during literature. We are finishing a chapter in math all about geometry. This includes surface area, volume, names of shapes, etc. We will test next week on this chapter.

We are now studying outer space in Science. We read about early space missions and watched some videos of moon walks and launches. We will move into planets and starts next quarter. If you didn't ask your child about their research project for Social Studies, certainly do that. You could have them bring up their paper or presentation on the computer. Have a blessed week!
