“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shakentogether and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
What is Stewardship? Why does the Stewardship Committee exist at St. Lucas? Why does the church always talk about money? The Stewardship Committee exists at St. Lucas to encourage all the members at St. Lucas about true Christian Stewardship. This means giving of our time, talents and treasures to support the Lord’s work here at St. Lucas as well as through our support of Wisconsin Lutheran High School and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. It’s more than money, although giving of our treasure is important, it’s also about volunteering our time by regularly attending worship services and participating in the activities offered by the congregation. It also means using the talents (i.e. spiritual gifts) that God has given to each of us. Periodically, the Stewardship Committee presents “Heart in Focus” a Bible study that can help Christians of any age for financial bracket to take a look at and analyze their financial habits in the light of what God has told us.
Currently, the Stewardship Committee consists of 2 dedicated members. More volunteers are needed to carry out the work of the committee. The time commitment required is small. The committee meets once per month on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Some additional time may be spent between meetings completing assigned tasks.
