A note from the Saint Lucas Food Pantry

A note from the Saint Lucas Food Pantry,

One thing that we’ve seen for sure in the last days and weeks is that our current situation is constantly changing. As stewards of this part of the ministry at Saint Lucas, we will continue to prayerfully adjust as is needed.

Here’s what we are suggesting for right now:

If you, or someone you know is in need of food, please let us know and we will help you.

Contact the church office at 414-483-9122. A time to access the Food Pantry will be arranged. If you are physically unable to pick up a basket, you will be connected with someone willing to make a delivery.

If you have good health and availability, please consider calling the church office at 414-483-9122 to volunteer your services to do some grocery or medication shopping or pickup for a vulnerable person.

If you are in the vulnerable category and need to stay at home, and have no one to assist you, please call the church office at 414-483-9122 to request assistance for shopping/grocery or medication pickup.

As Christians, we are called to move into crisis situations and show the love of Jesus both through spiritual support and physical support.

If you know of someone in your neighborhood or through school or church who needs assistance, feel free to assist them with your own resources. It’s no coincidence that families and communities are coming together to help each other out. You can be “salt and light!” Take the opportunities that present themselves to practice following Jesus’ example. Check out Acts 2:42-47 for a description of one of the first Christian communities.

Please continue to bring back the blue bags with food donations as you are able.

The Saint Lucas Food Pantry will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m.-Noon for food drop off at church. Please use the door off the alley. Please contact the church office at 414-483-9122 to arrange for another time if these times do not work for you.

At this time, we are NOT planning an Easter Food basket distribution, rather the donated items will be made available to those who contact us for help during this crisis – We want to have resources available to especially help people in our church/school family and the Bay View community, many of whom work in industries/fields where life has ground to a halt (think wait-staff at your favorite restaurant, retail workers, etc).

In these uncertain times, take joy in knowing that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow,” (Hebrews 13).

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesusour Lord,” (1 Peter 1:2).

2 Year Reading Plan of the Bible (NIV 1984)

The Today's Light Bible helps individuals and groups read and study the entire NIV Bible in just two years, breaking the readings down into manageable daily portions that can be completed in just 15 minutes or less. Brief devotions based on the text help readers understand and apply that day's Scripture selection to their lives.
